worldwide in scope, and computers on the Kenyon campus have already
seen their share of infection

Solution

Virus, Spyware, Adware, Trojans, Hijackers, Dialers, Keyloggers - Detection, Prevention, Removal

Anti-virus software works as a kind of filter that is capable of detecting virus-carrying files (whether they are infected email attachments, files on a floppy disk, or files you are trying to download off the Web or from a networked drive). They prevent you from opening the files before they have a chance to infect your computer. Having this ind of protection already installed on your computer can save you from the nightmare of losing important files (such as Comps) and the headache of spending hours trying to manually remove a virus from your computer.

In addition to installing anti-virus software, there are other things you can do to protect your computer from threat of virus attack. Since new viruses are being created daily, anti-virus software is not completely bullet-proof. It is highly likely that you could become infected by a new vius before your anti-virus software can develop a means of disinfecting it.
